Controls

The Core Loop

  1. Walk to the edge of your chunk (the small tile area you're standing on)
  2. Dice Roller UI appears — you have 3 dice slots: Terrain (d20), Rarity (d20), Filter (d4)
  3. Press E to roll — the result determines what generates next to you
  4. Explore the new chunk: fight enemies, collect resources
  5. Craft better dice with resources you find (press C)
  6. Repeat — push further from spawn, face tougher enemies

What the Dice Do

  • Terrain roll (d20): determines the biome (1 = Shadowfell, 4-5 = Forest, 20 = Infernal)
  • Rarity roll (d20): determines loot quality and enemy density
  • Filter roll (d4): modifies the template variant
  • Nat 20: Legendary chest with bonus loot
  • Nat 1: Enemy horde — survive if you can

Ring System

The further you go from spawn (0,0), the higher the ring. Enemies get stronger per ring. The HUD shows your current ring. Ring 0-1 is always safe (forest, no enemies).

Crafting

Press C to open crafting. Combine materials to forge new dice:

  • Wood, Stone, Iron, Herb, Crystal — collected from chunks
  • Better dice = better control over what you generate

Attributes

Every 5 kills = level up = 1 attribute point. Press L to allocate:

  • Luck — bonus on rarity rolls
  • Arcana — bonus on terrain rolls
  • Survival — more HP
  • Perception — better detection

Decay System

Chunks you don't visit degrade over time:

  • Fresh → Worn → Decaying → Corrupted
  • Corrupted chunks spawn strong enemies and lose their loot
  • Visit a chunk to reset its decay
  • Place a Totem (press T, costs 1 die) to permanently protect a chunk

Tips

  • You start with basic d20s — they're weak but free to craft
  • Rerolling a single die costs 3 crystals (click the die in the roller)
  • Check the minimap (top-right) — darker chunks are decaying
  • Don't ignore chunks behind you — decay is real
  • Bosses appear every 5 chunks explored — they hit hard but drop extra loot
